Miriam Allan’s sublime singing has resonated around the globe, from her native Australia to Japan, Singapore, and festivals throughout Europe and North America. Her exquisite voice has enchanted audiences worldwide, including a memorable performance at the funeral of HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
Recent highlights include a recital tour in Australia, collaborations with the Instruments of Time and Truth, Collegium Vocal Gent, and Les Arts Florissants, as well as Vivaldi performances with Pinchgut Opera. She has also appeared at Wigmore Hall alongside Jonathan Cohen and Arcangelo and performed in The Indian Queen with Concert d’Astrée. Additionally, she has lent her voice to documentary recordings exploring Monteverdi’s life.
Miriam’s operatic repertoire features performances with Pinchgut Opera, the Innsbruck Festival, and Glyndebourne Festival Opera. She has graced some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including the Sydney Opera House, Lincoln Center in New York, and the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.
Her extensive discography includes award-winning recordings of Monteverdi and Gesualdo. Upcoming releases includes Gesualdo Madrigals with Collegium Vocale Gent and Bach Cantatas with Les Arts Florissants. Additionally, her collaboration with organist James Orford and the London Choral Sinfonia of works by Jean Langlais enriches her repertoire.
As an educator, Miriam is equally passionate and has 25 years’ experience teaching students between the ages of 5 and 80. Currently holding teaching posts at Christ’s College, Cambridge and St George’s School Windsor Castle, Miriam has previously held teaching posts at Westminster Abbey, The University of Newcastle Conservatorium (Australia), Westminster Under School, Bloxham School (as Head of Singing), Dragon School in Oxford and as the tutor to the trebles at Tonbridge School in Kent. She has given workshops and masterclasses at for the Instruments of Time and Truth for students at University of Oxford and in her native Australia at the Universities of Sydney, Newcastle, Western Australia, and Australian National University in Canberra.
